Original rule text

[BR-DEC-19]-The allowed maximum number of decimals for the VAT category taxable amount (BT-116) is 2.

Stored validation assertion
string-length(substring-after(ram:BasisAmount,'.'))<=2

What this rule requires

The rule requires that the VAT category taxable amount (BT-116) has no more than two decimal places. In UBL this is checked on cbc:TaxableAmount inside cac:TaxTotal/cac:TaxSubtotal; in CII it is checked on ram:BasisAmount inside ram:ApplicableHeaderTradeSettlement/ram:ApplicableTradeTax. A document fails when the value has a decimal point followed by more than two digits, such as 123.456.

How to fix

Change the value of cbc:TaxableAmount (UBL) or ram:BasisAmount (CII) so that it has at most two digits after the decimal point. If the amount currently has more than two decimal digits, adjust it to two decimal places using your normal rounding or truncation rules, since the rule does not specify how to reduce it. Ensure the system that produces the invoice formats or validates this field to emit no more than two decimal places.
